more music

Well, since my musical tastes range from folk to swing to rock to classical, I have quite a stable of favorites to share ... but I try to restrain myself.  There's a certain blogger I rarely read anymore, who loves to share HER favorites, and they tend to put me to sleep -- so I just don't want to go there.

But here's an artist whom not many people find familiar.  We discovered Jimmie Spheeris back in the early '70s.  He was run over and killed by a drunk driver in the '80s before he became very famous, but his few records are still favorites of mine.

Fortunately, youtube has quite a collection of his stuff.  I hope Graham enjoys this more than the classic/folk I posted yesterday.  :-)

    Hi Tess, have probably beaten Graham to it LOL! But I like the track, and according to 'Wiki' .Jimmie Spheeris was an American singer-songwriter who released four albums in the 1970s on the Columbia Records and Epic Records labels. He was of Greek descent. He was brother of film director and producer Penelope Spheeris, and cousin of musician Chris Spheeris and film director Costa Gavras.

      i'm glad you enjoyed him, Jan! I tried to choose a lively song for the blog, but you might also like some of his softer things. "Sighs of a Shell" is one of my favorite pieces -- let me see if I can find it online....

      YES, I LOVE talking to people in different parts of the globe! :-D you get perspective you'll never find, just communicating to locals (by which I mean "people in the US," for myself...).
