Food definitely choose the balance that suits any health problems you may have. But books, music, art never be afraid to look/read at different choices and possibilities - just a thought.

All the best Jan Lowcarb team memberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07961199165290289611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7221767529759848946.post-91459302791870321302013-08-04T18:20:57.895-05:002013-08-04T18:20:57.895-05:00You can use the roast (beef or pork) to make it. Or not knowing anymore where you can get Ferragamos on sale and which clothes you can wear them with because you've ditched the fancy footwear for a few basic pairs of shoes.

Dinner for me is almost always broiled meat and some vegetables or salad. It's quick, easy and tastes good. One variation I do like (which is in 500 Paleo Recipes) is crispy shredded beef. That was worth the price of the book.Lori Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02612141535162268390noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7221767529759848946.post-68274879859231744642013-08-04T16:38:24.524-05:002013-08-04T16:38:24.524-05:00I find I have to cook very small portions, or end ...I find I have to cook very small portions, or end up eating the same leftover roast for a LONG TIME. :-) we almost never snack anymore. but my fridge gets horribly full of all the specialty ingredients it takes to make the "ethnic" foods we've learned to love!tesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04254045589639201707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7221767529759848946.post-31158470217287942032013-08-04T16:33:28.975-05:002013-08-04T16:33:28.975-05:00I only come in contact with "television"...I only come in contact with "television" when i'm visiting people who watch it themselves -- at home, I mostly only have my TV on to watch movies. OMG, how life has changed in that regard during our lifetimes! I remember my excitement when AMC began, a real movie channel without commercial interruption! :-) ...as far as books are concerned, I tell a lot of people that I only read dead authors as a means of deflecting book recommendations after getting SO MANY bad steers....

people SHOULD be able to have treats in many areas of life, and a lot of us use them in the fashion I describe (above) as best for ME, but I suspect that those who say "LC doesn't work" are the ones who try to live on atkins bars and shakes, and almond-flour baked goods instead of real food.tesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04254045589639201707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7221767529759848946.post-80173554792527845922013-08-04T14:43:05.861-05:002013-08-04T14:43:05.861-05:00I think there is a degradation of my cooking skill...I think there is a degradation of my cooking skills since I started LCarbing. I cook less often, variety of my food is way down, refrigerator is less packed...
I wouldn't know what to do with an almond cake unless I invite guests - it just doesn't fit into the way I am eating now. I prefer egg-based breakfast and some protein/vegetable combination + small piece of fruit for my second meal of the day after which I would be too full to eat that cake. I just watched a couple of episodes of a new comedy on Netflix, even though the theme of friendship was nice, I can't relate to being in my twenties and acting like a 12-year-old boy or hooking up with random people, and let's get real: men you've just met don't act like your girlfriend unless they're trying to get into your pants (but don't know how).

Most fiction and self-help books are just as bad. It's so easy to just tell someone to fix their attitude and try harder.

I love dark chocolate, but other than that, the junkiest thing I normally eat is flax bread. I haven't made almond meal chocolate cookies in ages.Lori Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02612141535162268390noreply@blogger.com
