Unfortunately, a lot of people in St. Louis were not so fortunate. :-( They say we had "near record" flooding -- i'd hate to see what it looked like when it WAS a record! The forty foot limestone bluff upon which the Arch sits, and where the original trading-post which became our city was located, is only a few feet out of the water! Thank you for your concern, Lori!tesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04254045589639201707noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7221767529759848946.post-48566492178704240512015-12-31T13:38:00.729-06:002015-12-31T13:38:00.729-06:00Sorry Tess ... completely off topic !

I agree -- early bedtimes and avoiding overcrowded situations make for a much happier and healthier life.

I certainly hope you CAN return to StL soon -- i'd love to meet you! For me sleeping too little or being jet-lagged are two main reasons to get down with a virus, but a general exhaustion is hard enough. Have a nice rest! Yes, we live in a culture which praises constant business and self-torturing. After New Year for couple of months we all will see many new miserable runners. Than they would go back to a previous life.Galina L.https://www.blogger.com/profile/09156132815504279615noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7221767529759848946.post-4822538462830685052015-12-27T11:51:33.344-06:002015-12-27T11:51:33.344-06:00Sorry to hear you've not been feeling too good...Sorry to hear you've not been feeling too good ... hope by now things are improving.

But do take care, and many may recommend a good bone broth, plenty of rest and stress-free as possible.

All the best JanLowcarb team memberhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07961199165290289611noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7221767529759848946.post-88787152378552880072015-12-26T11:09:32.970-06:002015-12-26T11:09:32.970-06:00Sorry to hear about this, Tess. Hope you can spend the rest of 2015 recovering, and the whole of 2016 with a more relaxing and rest based life and plans.

I've cleared my deck to get in bed by 9 (eye rolling by those when I tell them past 9 is a no go for activities) and to hit the gym only at non-peak hours, the grocery store at less crowded times, etc.

I think crowds (airplanes) are the best places to get sick. Knock on wood- my trip back from St. Louis (It's very possible I'll be back in the next 2 years and I'll email you first) that I've gone almost 3 months in the winter season well. Crossing fingers right now- but I do think my 9pm bedtimes and my Fitbitcharge HR is really helping me set hard limits on that stuff.

Take care and here's to everyone feeling better. Since moving across the country a month ago, I haven't done much--I spent the previous few months cleaning, purging, and doing a bunch of little fix-ups around the house, plus having the worry of owning two houses a thousand miles apart.

I spent a miserable Christmas, too. I was sick to my stomach all day--it turned out to be fumes from making wasabi almonds.Lori Millerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02612141535162268390noreply@blogger.com
